Advantages and disadvantages of plywood
Artificial board replaced the earlier solid wood and became the main material for furniture. There are many types of artificial boards, each with its own unique advantages. We can say that they have overcome the shortcomings of solid wood and are currently the main materials used in decoration construction, but it is often this type of board that confuses consumers. Therefore, each semi-decorator should first spend some time to figure out the common names and scientific names of various boards and their roles in home decoration, advantages and disadvantages, prices, etc. before decoration, so that they can carefully purchase materials according to the needs of decoration. Choose and control the quality.
plywood plywood or fine core board
Plywood, commonly known as plywood or fine-core board, is the earliest and most widely used wood in this industry. Generally, it is made by hot pressing of three or more layers of veneer or thin plate with a thickness of one millimeter. In the past, the three-plywood we often said is made of three layers of veneer.
Different plywoods are usually distinguished by their thickness specifications. Generally divided into 3 PCT, 5 PCT, 9 PCT, 12 PCT, 15 PCT and 18 PCT six specifications (1 PCT is 1 mm).
Advantages: high strength, good bending performance. In some structural parts that need to bear weight, the use of thin core board will have more strength.
Disadvantages: Poor stability due to differences in the consistency of its core material. This makes the deformation of the thin core board likely to increase. Therefore, thin core board is not suitable for single-sided parts, such as cabinet doors.
